Wow, my LHC thread on the "Micronesian Girl Spiral Braid" has had over 45,000 views! A lot of the ladies have uploaded pictures of their own hair after doing this beautiful hairstyle on their own~ I admire anyone who can do that on their own head...such talent!

Flower Updo~ Easter 2013
![]() |
Flower Updo (I learned this hairstyle from an article on LHC.) |
Happy Easter!
I hope you have a beautiful and happy Easter Sunday. Our day here in the islands was gorgeous~ the flowers were blooming and the sun was shining.
Everyone in church brings flower leis for the cross on Easter Sunday~ here is how our cross looked this year:
So beautiful! The lei I made is hanging in the center~ maybe after seeing these pictures you can spot it among all the rest:

Thank you so much for stopping by to view my Easter pictures! I will post more later of my sister's look for today~ she did a very pretty braided Chinese knot bun with chop sticks.

Rope Lace Braid and Rose Bun
Hello everybody,
I hope you had an amazing week-end and that your new week is off to a great start!
Yesterday I made a rope lace braid around my head, and then made a side rose bun with the length of my braid. (A rope braid is made with only two sections of hair that wrap around each other.) I liked the way the bun turned out~ larger loops in the middle with a smaller rope braid around the outer edge.
Some pictures <3

(My new dress :-)
Lilith Moon has a video on a similar style. I actually did not learn how to do this lace rope braid from Lilith~ I used to have a paperback braid book with black-and-white pictures, and one of the styles was this easy lace rope braid. And the Long Hair Community was where I first found out about a rose bun~

Tear-Drop Bun
Hello everybody!
Here are pictures of another popular look I posted on the Long Hair Community. Seeing these makes me want to do this look again soon. I like to call this the "tear-drop" bun. To add interest, I started out by making a small Mohawk French braid. (From my other posts you've probably noticed that I seem to like doing the Mohawk look :-)
To make my bun, I first put my hair into a ponytail. Then I took a small section of hair and made a loop, and pinned the loop in place close to my ponytail holder. Each section of hair was long enough to make several loops. Here is my finished look:

Thank you for looking! I'm going to have to take new length pictures soon, my hair seems to be even longer lately. Another day, another post <3
Waterfall-French Braid
Isn't this a beautiful scene?
I took these pictures yesterday~ such a lovely spot to visit!
Now, for some hair pictures! This is actually one of the most popular hairstyles that I've uploaded to the Long Hair Community's Mane Forum. I made a center part, then braided one side of my hair in a waterfall-French braid. I left out the hair closest to my center part. I did the same thing on the opposite side. Then I braided the center sections of hair left over from my two waterfall braids into a center French-fishtail braid. Here is how this look turned out:
Thanks for looking!
I hope you have a great day <3

Micronesian Girl~ Spiral Braid Updo
"Senco" or Spiral Braid Updo
This has to be Micronesian girls' most popular braided updo! One of my Micronesian friends braided her friend's hair in this complicated hairstyle while I tried to take pictures of the steps. I uploaded the pictures to a thread on the Mane Forum at the Long Hair Community. So far my thread on the LHC has had over 40,000 views!
Here are pictures of the steps to the "senco" or spiral braid. You can see it starts out as a very thin lace braid. The girl braiding starts the braid in the middle of her friend's head, then continues adding hair to one side while guiding the braid in a spiral direction, around and around until all the hair is added. Then she tucks the end of the braid among the layers so they don't show. Ta-da!
So very beautiful! I wish I could figure out how to do this on my own hair. I have trouble braiding all the way around and switching directions. Some ladies who looked at my post on the LHC were able to do this on their own hair, and posted pictures. They are amazing!
As always, thank you for looking! Keep in touch, and if you are able to do this let me know!
