Fancy Braided Bun

Hello everyone,

I hope you had a good week-end!  Once again I tried out the fancy braided bun that Lilith Moon and WomensBeauty1 have both featured in YouTube videos.  You basically make three circle parts, one inside the other.  The hair in the innermost center circle is put into a ponytail.  Then you make a circle French braid with that hair and the hair from the middle circle part.  The outer circle part is braided into a wrap-around lace braid.  At least, this is the basic idea...I made a few changes to suit my super long hair, and came up with a look I like very much.  All my friends loved it, too :-)  I took my hair down in the evening and explained the steps to this hairstyle, backwards.

Thank you for coming by to view my pictures!

Micronesian Girl~ Micro-Star Braids

Hey friends!

I hope you are enjoying your day~ it is a beautiful summer day in Micronesia.  Of course, most days are beautiful summer days because we have summer weather all year long!

My little friend normally has tight, curly hair, but her older cousin made all these intricate braids with parted sections in an amazing star pattern.  I took the pictures in the evening so they aren't as clear as usual, but still very pretty.

Fancy Braided Bun

Hey everybody,

I tried to do a version of a pretty circle braid updo that I saw on the internet~ it turned out a little lop-sided, but it's hard to braid 360* around one's own head lol

Here are links to the two Lilith Moon videos you can combine to create this hairstyle~ Lilith posted this idea on her Facebook page with a few pictures of her own.  First video on circle lace braid updo~ and the next  video on a circle French braid.

(When I fixed my hair today, I did the center circle French braid first, then the outer lace braid.  I poked the ends of my braids up under the bun, so that's actually all my hair and not a sock.)

For lack of a better name (or the imagination to think one up!), I just called this my fancy braided bun.  If you have a better name for this hairstyle feel free to comment below.  As always, thanks for looking!

Circle French Braid

The girls in Russia certainly know how to braid hair! I discovered this video on YouTube today and would so love to try it out. I'll have to see what I can do...

In the past I've tried a similar look~

Now to figure out how to do the double version...
